La di da di da!!! Aren't holidays great??? I'm a "lady of leisure" at the moment. At least that's how my Nanna is describing my current situation. I LOVE JO'S APARTMENT! Its fantastic. Moonee Ponds is great. Gisborne sucks. Today I got fired from my job! And got another job! I really sucked bad at the other job. I just can't bake muffins very well, so I was let go. Then I found a message from this other place who asked if I still wanted to have a trial run. So of course I said yes. IT was pretty funny, because I was all set for a fantastic pity party. Had the alcohol, ciggies, magazines, chocolate and crappy romance novels (which I swear I only read when depressed... I swear!) Then got the message. Its funny one door closes and another one opens... Anyhoo, got emails from Jo and Casey. Casey has just arrived in India from Sri Lanka, and having a really excellent time. Jo is starting driving lessons.. (do you mind if I say that Jo?) Tomorrow is my friend Nat's birthday party, with a celebration at Chaise Lounge and on Saturday I'm gonna have a dinner party to celebrate my firing and hiring job episode, its going to be a big weekend. Yipee! Debbie also came over on Tuesday and we watched...wait for it... Crossroads - the one with Britney Spears. How fun! xx Jess.

Hmm just read Zimon's blog. I think it made me paranoid. Am I one of those people who engage in agreeable conversation? I think it got me thinking because lately I have been called a number of things; gulliable, sensitive, slow, stupid and immature. While I agree with some of these descriptions I find it hard to accept that we all have to concentrate on negativity so often. I'm sure people have noticed this blog is concentrating on negativity. Even our course: international studies, is midly obsessed with death, destruction, suffering and inhumanity. Sure we have to know about the state of the world, but sometimes sitting in that lecture theatre results in depression. Its hard to walk out of there without being depressed after Paulista has talked about the effects of MAD, BSE and PSC. Maybe that's why we have to engage in agreeable conversation??? After being faced with this negativity in lectures and challenged with it at tutorials, we need to engage in a little agreeable conversation. It lightens things up, and besides I think its just a way of showing your support and making a connection. So, sorry to ramble but this is one time I have to engage in "disagreeable" conversation!!!
Anyhoo, let me tell you about my weekend, because I'm sure you're all enthralled! Last Friday night was Mel's goingaway gathering. Mel's soon jetting off for the bright lights of Paris! We went to Salon Rouge. It was really fun; danced, drank and chatted. Good Luck Mel! Gonna miss you heaps Mel. Debbie stayed over and then the next day we went to Chapel St and had lunch and went window shopping. Then we went to the beach in Mordialloc and generally vegetated and meet up with her friend Theo and his new friend (they had only meet that day) Daniel. It was so nice at the beach, got home at 9 and went straight to bed. That was my weekend - it was great! xx Jess.

Hello, thought it was about time to do another update. Not much to report. I started the new job on Monday, and am working four mornings a week baking muffins and washing dishes, from 7am to 12. I thought I'd be okay with the mornings but it sucks bad. And why is it the every tram I catch happens to have freaks on it?? Sorry to sound so harsh, but yesterday I got this old guy telling me his life story and asking me about mine. So of course I made it up. What nationality? South African. How old? 25 years old. What job? I work at a factory from 7 at night to 7 in the morning. Family? I'm adopted and have four brothers and two sisters. Then this guy was telling me I should stay home and have babies. I'm thinking Omigod, I never want to have children. Then I was like "this is my stop" and he said "Well I'm at that Moonee Ponds library every Thursday so I'll probably see on the tram more often" Wink wink. Oh how gross some old guy was chating me up. Gross. Then today this obviously drunk guy gets on and was abusing everyone on the tram. Smoking a ciggie too - yelling at some guy for sleeping with his mother, wife and daughter. Some other lady for being "a fuckin cold hearted bitch". Is it just me or has the world gone mad? And now I hear on the TV there's a terrorist alert. So comforting.
On a brighter note, I got invited to an engagement party on December 7th. Its my sister's best friend. She's only 22. Seems pretty scary to me. The getting engaged bit. Eeek!
Hope everyone is having fun on their holidays! xx Jess. P.S. Miss you heaps Jo!

P.P.S I forgot to mention! Last Friday night I was watching the TV til late, just channel surfing and I saw this short movie on the Community television network. (Its such a novelty for me because I never got that station in Gisboring) And I saw one of the actors, a girl and she looked really familiar, and I thought my god that looks like Lucie Abbott from uni... And sure enough at the end Lucie Abbott's name came up on the credits! So there you go! We've got a television star among us!!! Congrats to Lucie!!! I didn't catch the name of the program or the movie but it was on some movie review show.
Hello! Did u miss me??? Of course not! Well here I am writing this entry from Jo's computer in her *beautiful* apartment in Moonee Ponds. Its so nice here I love it. The only thing missing is Jo of course. I can't believe she's gone ... MISS YOU HEAPS JO! Nat and I went out last night... It was for her friend Chris' birthday. The place we went to was called Greyhound or something. This reallly dodgey gay bar place, that had a drag queen show on! The show was actually really cool and impressive, but it was sort of weird going to a gay bar. Though I had heaps of fun. Then after that we went to Chaise Lounge and on to Jo''s and mine place, where we crashed. Didn't get up until 10.30 then chatted with Nat for ages until John came over at 1.00 and I realised I should, you know, get dressed and clean up!
Ooohhhh I got a job too! At Casey's old work place. Start on Monday at 7... hmmm don't know how I'll go with the early mornings but it sounds like a lot of fun. Can't wait! xx Jess. P.S. Did I mention that I MISS JO!

Hi everyone,
We changed the dates! I'm actually going to move into Joh's place tomorrow. It works out better cos then I can drop the car off at Dad's work. Its pretty exciting... except I never realised how much crap I've accumalated. I'm sure Jo and her parents are going to get the shock of their lives tomorrow when they see my many boxes and cases!!! Aahhh! Sorry in advance!
I feel pretty... I don't know... ambivalent about moving away from Gisborne. In the last couple of weeks I've actually made some friends around here. (Hey it only took two years)But I'm so excited about moving to Moonee Ponds. My parents are generally being a - holes about the whole situation but you get that. That's all for now, xx Jess. P.S. I'll update about the job situation asap. I'm now unemployed!!!!

On friday i went to mel's party and it was awesome.. apparently something happened to Zimon and his cufflink or something.. i don t know if i was still here and if i was i wouldn t remember i was too pissed! Sexy Jessie is moving in my place on tuesday, i m looking forward to that! The only problem is that i m living for New Cal ( as Jess would say) on wednesday .. Fuck i m gonna be bored without Jess, Mel , Debbie, Simon and all my uni mates!!! Snif! Anyway i m sure Mel 's gonna have fun in France and that Zimon will keep me inform about what s happening in Melbourne as well as around the world! As for sexy Jessie and Debbie, i m pretty sure they ll discover some new nice alcohol to consume!!!
Anyway, i better go and stop farting around ( I ve just learnt that expression and it s fun.. for people who still don t know i m a bloody french/according to Paulista B/ still trying to improve my English!!!)
PS: Zimon, would you be kind enough to tell me how to put photos on the blog ( in simple words cause i m hopeless with computer)
C ya all !!! Joh:)
Hello,
Thought I do another update since I've got two hours until my last shift of work. I went to Mel and Lauren's party it was excellent. I had a fantastic time, except like Simon, I too misplaced my sunglasses somewhere. I'll have to call the girls and see if they were anywhere. Also Simon I read your blog, and I've got the missing cufflink! You asked me to look after it so you wouldn't lose it. And I didn't. I just, you know, didn't give it back!
Tuesday I'm moving into Jo's place. I'm very excited! I'm also really sad cause Jo's going back to New Caledonia :( But I'm sure she'll have great time and I know we'll keep in contact all the time! If you're reading this Jo, I'm going to MISS YOU HEAPS!! xxoo Jess

Wow
I haven't written in this blog for ages. I've been obsessed with the stupid exam. And now its over! I think I went okay on the definitions but really crap on the essays! I was so nervous, everyone must of thought I was being a snob because when I'm nervous I can't speak. Then afterwards I couldn't speak because I was sort of stunned that I've finished second year and I'll never have to do another subject with Paul Battersby again! WOO HOO!!!
Just been reading the Malaysia peoples blogs... *sigh* they must be having such a great time. I so excited for Casey and HB they're going to India soon. Mel's going to Canada, Mexico, Turkey and France! I think Lauren's going to Mexico. And of course, we can't forget the gorgeous Jo who is going to New Caledonia. I really hope they all have a great time.
Hmmmm....work. Well since I've given my two weeks notice, things have changed - for the better. My boss has been really nice. The cute guy actually speaks to me (unlike the other bastards who I still hate) and they've got NEW UNIFORMS. Yes new uniforms, right when I leave they get new uniforms, I've been using my own clothes and now they're ruined with burnt milk stains and coffee smell.
On Tuesday I went to see Nat, and OJ and Tess were down. We went and had coffee at my work. OJ's just broken up with her boyfriend and my god, she looks really hurt. I feel so sorry for her. He did broke up with her thru SMS now that's fucked. It makes me glad that I'm single. Actually, I think I love being single most of the time. Probably because I'm a pretty selfish person.
Anyhoo, that's enough of my rant,
xx Jess

Hi again,
Man I'm obsessed with this blog. Last night I meet Joh's parents who have come over from New Cal. (don't you love the shortened version - New Cal) to visit her. We went out for dinner at Smoken' Joes (no relation to Joh) and had a fantastic dinner, they're such great people! I'm really looking forward to moving in with Joh, I just wish holidays weren't so loooooooooonnnnnng - cos I'm gonna miss you heaps!
Don't know if anyone has heard, but there was plane crash (just a little plane) in ... MYRTLEFORD! Well not Myrtleford exactly - Gapsted. The winery where it happened is actually where my Stepdad used to work. Crazy shit! I'm sure it'll be the biggest news in town for at least 12 months. Still I feel sorry for the people who died.
Well better get back to my Teaching English essay.
Wish me luck,
xx Jess.

Ni hao,
Jintian, wo gai hen hao. Fuck knows if that's right! Today I feel happy. Why? I decided to try and stay up as late as I could, and did until 2pm. Well this morning I woke up at 8.30am feeling very refreshed. So I'm ready for a full day of study! Except now I'm on the internet, wasting time when I should be getting ready to go study.
So I quit my job and it was really uncomfortable. I said, "I've got some news. My parents are moving to Adelaide in three weeks. So I have to move into the city, so I have to quit." My boss looked shocked and said, "Oh no, Jess I'm shattered!" Then asked me what I was going to do, where I was going etc. She was really nice about it. But I felt really guilty. Even though they did shaft me on my wages and stuff, I suppose they were pretty nice people, unlike my some of my other bosses.... oh well!
I think I'm in dreamy holiday mode. Everyday I've been checking out Lonely Planet's website, planning these huge, expensive holidays to far off places that I'll most likely never visit - but its fun doing it. I'm on of those people who compusively buy travel books, like actual guidebooks to places that I'm not actually going to travel to. Yep, just buy 'em for the hell of it! Pretty pathetic but it keeps me entertained. Hmm think during the holidays I'll got second-hand book shopping and buy old travel guides. They're pretty funny. The best one I've ever picked up is a "Guide to All China", a little pocket book produced in the 1980's. It was produced by the CITS (China International Travel Service) which I think is the government run travel service. It contains such gems as "The mind reels at the unenviable task which faces CITS whose job it is to manipulate China's limited hotel and transport facilities to accommodate all their foreign guests." and "CITS is generous with its guiding services" "CITS expects its guest to keep up a cracking pace" and lastly "But CITS guides are far from being severe taskmasters." This people, is why we have Lonely Planet! My personal favourite was "THe Cultural Revolution from 1966 to 1976 stunned western observers who were either mindlessly changint slogans, or entranced at the thought of a great experiment in social engineering." R-i-g-h-t. Anyhoo, I'd better be off! cya xx Jess.

Hi Everyone,
I just quickly have to post this. I PASSED CHINESE! Yep, a miracle happened!!! After I did the test, which was pretty hard, I asked my teacher Maria to mark it, and she did and said, "Hmm, not bad. You got 88." I was so happy. If you remember from my last posts, I had to get a HD to pass Chinese. So now I've passed. Yipee! I was dancing in the streets and everything. Now there's the Global Risk exam to stress about. Great.................................... :( And a Teaching English essay and Multiliteracies report. How fun xx Jess.
