Hi everyone. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR! Not much happening except the usual pre-Christmas rush. I got a promotion at work ... I think its a promotion... or got moved to another deparment. Nah I'll call it a promotion ... I'm now a Quality Assurance Operator/Officer/Person. Sounds a bit cool I suppose. So I start the new position next monday but for now I'm just going to chill. xx Jess

Another day, another ... GRADUATION??? Yikes that doesn't happen often. So today I will graduate. After three years of bludging, a few select weeks of very-hard work (usually when I realise the due date is in two days) and the rest spent ruining my liver, and lungs. Oh and we can't forget the lovely part-time jobs I've had over the years. So far I count seven in three years. No make that 8. Oh the memories. Do I count the internship as well? Was that like a job? I haven't really done much in the last week or so, the most exciting thing being MEL'S BIRTHDAY! It was a great day, I ate far too much but had an excellent time.
Besides that nothing because of certain people deciding not to go at the last minute. The most annoying thing was the work Christmas party, in which two people PIKED OUT and so I couldn't go. I tells ya, I am definitely not going to have a 21st birthday party or something like that because I know people wouldn't turn up. They'd say, "Yeah of course I'm coming" and then make up lame excuses at the last minute.
I really should stop typing because I'm pretty pissed off, and will probably type something I'll regret.
Oh and here's something I really want to say...

MEL IS LEAVING FOR PARIS IN LESS THEN A WEEK AND I'M VERY SAD! I'LL MISS YOU HEAPS BABE!

Anyway, to round up the graduation post, here is cheesy, standard graduation poem, but I think its quite nice! So I'll dedicate it to B.A. International Studies 2003!

On Your Graduation
Look at yourself as you stand among the winners. See yourself as one, belonging to an elite group of individuals. And know that you have accomplished a great success in your life. You've taken a dream, added a splash of determination, and created the reality which you hold in your hands today.
And as you stand among the future of our world, in that fleeting moment, take time to reflect on the past; On obstacles you've had to overcome, on mistakes you have made, and friends you've known along the way. Dream of tomorrow; Envision with awe all that it holds for you, and be sure that there are no obstacles you can't overthrow, and that mistakes can be rectified, and that the friends who have been with you will always be with you because the gift of memory will keep them forever alive in your heart.
So as you end a chapter in your journal of life, and embark out into an unchartered sea, you will tread the uncertain waters with caution, knowledge, and respect. For although you can't see to the ocean floor, you have the courage to look deep within and make the changes you know you can, the knowledge not to disturb the good that is already there, and the self-respect to be the best that you can be

Hello people! Oh its been awhile! I haven't posted because my friend Miju is here from Korea! Yeah! Cindy rang me on my mobile on Sunday night and asked if I could pick Miju up from Spencer st. I got there but she had been delayed in customs for 2 hours because they though she was smuggling in drugs or something (I think they should learn Korean Panadol is not a drug). So instead I picked her up from the airport. So Miju stayed here a couple of days and now she's staying at Paige's place! I'm so excited and happy she's here but I have to work so much which sucks cos I don't get to see her much...
In other news....
My sister got a Ph.D scholarship. I have no fucking idea what she will be studying. Some medical research type thing. She did her Honours on "The Effect of Endothelin-1 on Vascular Proteoglycans" and got a H1. Jesus. So in 3 years she'll be a doctor which is sorta cool I suppose. But I did think it was my sisterly duty to discuss this Ph.D thing seriously. Here is our conversation;
Jess: So you're gonna be like a doctor right?
Mel: Yeah I suppose
Jess: But you'll have to go to uni for another three years!
Mel: I don't mind
Jess: Mel do you release that you are 22 and you've been at school or uni since you were 4, and now you're gonna finish it all when you're 25? That's more then 20 years!
Mel: What's your point?
Jess: Well fuck aren't you sick of it?
Mel: Nup
Jess: Well I fucking am. Anyway you're gonna have to be a tightarse student for another 3 years.
Mel: But its an $18,000 tax-free scholarship every year.
Jess: FUCKING JESUS CHRIST! How's about a loan then?
Mel: Don't take the lord's name in vain.

So concludes another exciting chapter in the adventures of Mel and Jess. Two total opposites I think, everyone in our family says so.

Work's Christmas Party tonight!!! Woo hoo free alcohol! xx Jess

Hello all, just thought I'd update the old blog. I think its been over a year since it started. Wow how exciting. Anyway, I have actually passed all my class and will consequentially GRADUATE! FUCKING YEAH!! ALRIGHT!! I was pretty happy with my marks - HD for internship, D for Field Study and Current Issues (how?). Except on my transcript it says I have a pass for the Field Study but it got marked as distinction. Bizarre. I think I was lucky because Ruth marked my field study and internship report.
Also got my gown and mortarboard thingy it makes me look like the biggest, fat wanker on the planet but I don't care! I think Laura and I should get a picture together and then send it to the Myrtleford Times (note* Myrtleford's local newspaper) with a caption saying "HA HA HA LAURA AND I GRADUATED - SUCK SHIT ALL YOU MYRTLEFORD LOSERS" but that might be a bit insensitive.

I think I'll go back to South Korea next year. I really miss it and really enjoyed teaching there. The more I work at Hell, the more I want to work in Korea teaching English. In the grand tradition of 10 Things I Hate About You, I now have 10 Things I Hate About My Job~
1. The printers are all fucked up
2. The fax maching is always broken
3. I have pay $1.50 for the coffee from the vending machine
4. The social retards I have to speak to - also known as mystery shoppers
5. The new dress code - "No denim, no T-shirts, no thongs, no midriffs, no torn clothing, no studded belts, no singlet tops, must be clean shaven, must have clean and ironed clothes, no off-the-shoulder tops, NO PERSONALITY"
6. The new break system - "If you move your car, have a smoke, make a coffee, buy something from the vending machine, go to the bathroom - this time will be taken out of your breaks." .
7. Finishing work at 10 and the freaks at Flinders St station, including my own personal stalker.
8. Listening to my German co-workers for nine hours, it just gets a bit FUCKING IRRITATING after awhile. Especially when they look at me and then start talking in German.
9. My boss and her mood swings
10. The crap assignments I get stuck which bring down my SPU rate. I HATE ANZ. I HATE RACV.
